Help #FindSquinty the stray cat (still missing after one week)

Squinty is still missing after one week – please help to #FindSquinty

It has been one week since frail, 14-year-old Squinty and friendly Chevvy disappeared. They were removed from their long-term home at the US Embassy Athens and have not been seen alive since. OUR MISSION is to find these missing cats.

WHAT HAS HAPPENED? 
Four of the seven cats that had lived all their lives within the US Embassy campus were collected and abandoned on the outskirts of Athens. These tame, friendly cats been spayed/neutered, in accordance with Greek law. On December 10-11, they were removed and left in a dangerous place between roads and packs of dogs.

After hearing the news, animal-loving embassy employees went immediately to search for the four removed cats at the place where they had been left, and were able to find and rescue two of the cats. But despite their on-going searches there has not been a single sighting of either Squinty or Chevvy.

WHAT DOES THE US EMBASSY ATHENS CLAIM?
They claim that these ‪#‎EmbassyCats were moved to a “safe” compound (see this post). But it is the same “safe” place where twenty cats from Psychico were moved by the US embassy last year, and all but four died /disappeared. 14-year-old Squinty and Chevvy have not been seen since they were left at this location. The embassy has not responded to any of the countless questions posted on their Facebook page about ‪#‎SquintyGate

We have a foster home for Squinty and are looking for homes for the other “relocated” cats. Let us know if you can offer a home or foster for the cats in question.

“We call on the Embassy to abide by Greek law and show its civilized values by returning the cats and ensuring their safety and well-being at the Embassy grounds, and implementing a humane trap-neuter-return and veterinary care program for all Embassy cats, now and in future.”

WE CONTINUE TO ASK THE EMBASSY
1) Why were the cats moved?
2) Were any professional people consulted about the welfare implications of this relocation?
3) What actions were taken to ensure the cats would receive proper care and attention?
4) The size of cat colonies is controlled by the cats themselves. When cats die or move, this leaves places for new cats to join the colony. It is likely that new cats will move into the embassy grounds. Is this policy of removing the cats going to continue?
