Corleone & Nefertiti
March 27, 2025We’ve known Cousin for many years. He appeared one day at a colony cared for by Nine Lives, a tall, handsome tuxedo cat with a strong personality. An old fracture to one hind leg – awkwardly healed – bore testimony to the hardship he had already lived on the streets. He flourished, becoming the leader of this cat group, taking newly abandoned kittens under his wing, and winning the hearts of all his feeders with his penchant for climbing into their laps purring and giving chin bumps.
Lately, he succumbed to the stomatitis that is so prevalent among stray cats, and became a shadow of his former self: Waiting on the fringes of the group, not approaching for cuddles, barely licking the food before retracting in pain. Vet treatment would give him brief relief till it flared up again.
So he moved into foster care – and has stayed there ever since. Eating well, easily treated as needed, loving the comfort of armchairs and cosy nest-beds, and most of all relishing a lap to sit on and a head to bump.
Cousin is ready to find his forever home for his golden years, and we are looking for someone who needs love and companionship as much as he does. He is rather strident with other adult cats (especially males), so in his ideal home he might be a singleton. He is neutered, and his general blood tests, liver and kidney titres are all good for his age.
