It’s World Spay Month and we need your help!
February 24, 2016Τάισμα αλά…γαλλικά!
April 28, 2016Thanks to you, our friends and supporters around the world, 260 cats were sponsored for spaying/neutering during World Spay Month!
While your generous donations have been coming in all month, Nine Lives Greece volunteers have been working hard to trap, neuter and return the cats to their colonies. Thank you!
Setting ambitious targets and engaging passionate and tireless volunteers to care for the cats is only part of the equation. Without our generous and committed supporters, all of this work would not be possible. Despite the challenges that face Athens and its feline inhabitants, we are grateful to have such true Friends who continuously rise to the challenge with us.
#WorldSpayDay is an annual global campaign started by Humane Society International in order to spotlight the importance of spaying/neutering as a proven way to reduce stray cat populations and improve their everyday quality of life.
Nine Lives Greece volunteers work throughout the year, feeding, rescuing the injured, looking for forever homes and providing medical care to those most in need, and our trap-neuter-return (TNR) programme is at the core of our work.
The cats in this year’s World Spay Day gallery are just a fraction of the cats who need help each year and it is never too late to contribute to this cause.
We will continue working to get the remaining 40 cats spayed/neutered from this year’s campaign as well as many other cats throughout the year.
From all of us at Nine Lives Greece, including 260 very happy felines, we thank you from the bottom of our paws!
